Remember when the night was ours?
The stars would shine for us.
Not knowing when the sun will fill our skies.
Endless stars we’d count for hours.
Our aging to discuss.
Now only one star is blinding our eyes.

Bring back the purity of all our childish minds,
the loves that always last,
the laughs that never stop.
Then, maybe, one day we’ll stop fearing for our lives,
stop mourning what was lost,
start searching for our out.
Waiting for our past to become our future.

Remember when we ran this street?
The cars would stop for us.
Rush hour meant nothing to our bikes and boards.
Now rusty chains weigh down our feet.
Wrenched by the city bus.
Eternal work under Damocles’ swords.

Bring back the purity of all our childish minds,
the loves that always last,
the laughs that never stop.
Then, maybe, one day we’ll stop fearing for our lives,
stop mourning what was lost,
start searching for our out.
Waiting for our past to become our future.

Pull out my eyes and cut off my legs
Broken, bloodied, burnt black to embers.
Wash away the qualms of weary life.
Wave goodbye.
Growing up and life hitting hard.
