Literature Text

You sang to me,
“Dance with me in these blackest of nights.
We will stay hidden from the blinding light.”
Hiding the things you didn’t want me to see.
Your love you shared.
There was too much to keep between us.
Wander through the night so unscrupulous.
Leaving the sheets we slept in tattered and teared.

The silver sparkle of stars
rust with the dawn.
The silver sparkle of starts
will fade away.

Waiting for day,
when light reveals who you are.
The memories and your voice seem so far.
“The lonely waltz has ended,” is all that you say.

I rest my head on this cold dance floor.
My feet and heart are left feeling sore.
And I dance alone.
And I dance alone.
My cries are songs only I can hear.
My voice is lost and my end is near.
Forever alone.
Forever alone.
Knight in shining armor my ass.
